This walk is a great introduction to the lush rainforest or 'goblin forest' of the mountain. Discover twisted kamahi trunks covered with ferns and mosses. The lush rainforest on the mountain's lower slopes is evidence of the park's high rainfall.

How to get here

The track begins just above the Stratford Mountain House, 15 km along Pembroke Road. Turn off SH23 onto Pembroke Road at the northern end of Stratford.
