Mō mātou | About us
Herenga ā Nuku Aotearoa, the Outdoor Access Commission, is the Crown agent responsible for providing leadership on outdoor access issues. Our role is to advise on and advocate for free, certain, enduring, and practical access to the outdoors.
The geospatial team supports the organisation to achieve its goals. We provide our staff with mapping products and tools. We collate, manage and publish our data responsibilities (Public Access Areas) to staff and to the public.
Mō koe | About you:
- A tertiary qualification in GIS or related geospatial discipline.
- A minimum of four years’ experience working in the geospatial industry.
- You will have Python skills and be keen to improve them with real-world projects.
- Experience and demonstrable knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Experience and demonstrable knowledge of the LINZ data model.
Mō te tūranga | The role:
- Work to improve public access data for Aotearoa through spatial data projects
- Produce maps, dashboards and visualisations to communicate
- Use Python to improve data flows
- Provide support and information for users of our systems
- Collaborate with stakeholders to secure and improve data supplies

This is an intermediate position, full-time and based in Wellington. The starting salary range is $90,000-$105,000, depending on experience.
