Kiwis urged to take part in outdoor recreation workshop

What people most enjoy doing outdoors, and how the private and public sectors can anticipate and cater to growing demand and changing trends will be the topic of a workshop run by the New Zealand Walking Access Commission in September.

The workshop is part of the New Zealand Recreation Association's Outdoors Forum, which will be held in Wellington on 1-2 September. NZWAC chief executive Eric Pyle, who will be running the workshop alongside operations manager Ric Cullinane, urged people to attend.

“This is a subject that concerns all of us, and we'd welcome some feedback from participants. The more people are involved in a workshop like this one, the more productive it is.

“Outdoor recreation is a big part of many New Zealanders' lives. What people want changes over time, and it's important that government and outdoor organisations understand and are responsive to these changing trends.â€
