Commission welcomes new staff

A warm welcome to Doug, Lauren and Jesse, who have recently joined the Commission. Doug Macredie joins the team as our strategic relationships manager| pononga kaiwhakatere, Lauren Schick as our regional field advisor | kaitohutohu ā-rohe for the Hauraki, Thames Coromandel and Bay of Plenty and Jesse Friedlander, our regional field advisor for Gisborne and Hawke’s Bay.  

Doug resides in Rotorua and brings a wealth of experience, relational insights and tactical application for the Commission especially in relation to Te Tiriti and maintaining and building relationships with mana-whenua.  

Lauren is our new regional field advisor for the Hauraki, Thames Coromandel and Bay of Plenty region and the point of contact for access issues or queries within those regions. She grew up on a dairy farm in south Waikato and has lived in the Bay of Plenty for over 13 years.  

Jesse, who previously worked for Fish and Game, will be based in Hawke’s Bay and a point of contact for the Gisborne and Hawke’s Bay regions around queries around new public outdoor access opportunities and to help retain existing public access. Our regional field advisors also investigate and help resolve disputes.
